Hou Windows Inc. roots go back to Hunan in 1988, Jiny Hou and Jim Hou founded a boutique retail store. It catered to many of the architects, builders and designers in the Hunan area. At the time, the aluminum windows&doors industry was experiencing dramatic change. Many of the old school carpenters and medium sized aluminum windows&doors shops were rapidly being replaced by mass-producing multinationals. The result was a inferior products with extremely limited custom capabilities. Jiny and Jim believed that more refined buyers would continue to want a well crafted windows with sophisticated, hand applied finish. They also believed that these same buyers would at times want a specific product that could only be custom built. They were right and their business rapidly the benefits by experiencing tremendous growth in the the years that followed.
